FoundHer: Pontine Paus, Dr Lipp

Pontine Paus started Dr.Lipp 15 years ago and launched it into the cult beauty business it is today. Having suffered from dry, chronic eczema prone skin, the only thing that alieved her happened to be Nipple Balm. After carrying around an industrial size tub of nipple balm (and catching everyone’s attention in doing so!), she launched her Original Nipple Balm for Dry Skin, Luscious Lips & Glossy Bits into the beauty industry, which is now a best seller in SpaceNK! She strived for a 100% natural, additive free, fragrance free, and of course cruelty free formula which is a total favourite among make-up artists and celebs alike! We caught up with Pontine to hear what her day to day looks like, as well as any tips she has for fellow FoundHers.


What does your typical day look like? Frantic! Ping ponging emails, phone calls, drawings and spreadsheets in between yoga, my infra red sauna and cooking healthy organic food.


Which tools can't you live without? Basically everything is ok as long as I have my dr.lipp with me at all time. Other than that My sporouting machine, my infra red sauna, my high heels and mascara come a close second to Dr.Lipp


Where do you hope to see yourself in 5 years time? As having built Dr.Lipp into a world wide distribution and available to everybody! I think we can all benefit from it no matter how old or young we are, regardless of gender. We all have a pair of nipples after all and practically everybody suffers from dry skin at some point. 


What would you tell your younger self at the beginning of your career? Don’t listen to anybody and just stay true to your vision. 


Is there anything you’ve had to sacrifice for your career?

Yes probably having a family, but I hope it’s still not too late!

Do you have any tips for new founders? Do what you believe in and if you think that others might benefit from the same dream then you’ll probably have a customer base for your business.  Sometimes it’s not always about inventing something new but it’s about distribution and communication that entices people to try something in this sea of products that are on the market today.
